PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a negative pressure abnormality detector and an internal combustion engine controller, and thereby correctly determine presence/absence of abnormality in a negative pressure sensor and accurately prohibit automatic stopping of an internal combustion engine when the negative pressure sensor is abnormal.SOLUTION: The negative pressure abnormality detector includes a negative pressure sensor which outputs a signal according to negative pressure in a negative pressure chamber of a brake booster to which intake negative pressure of an intake manifold is led that is caused by rotation of an internal combustion engine. Further, the negative pressure is detected on the basis of the signal from the negative pressure sensor. When a state continues for a prescribed time or longer, in which the internal combustion engine rotates on one hand, while on the other hand, negative pressure consumption operation relative to a brake pedal is not performed by a driver, presence/absence of abnormality in the negative pressure sensor is determined on the basis of whether the detected negative pressure is on an atmospheric pressure side or a vacuum pressure side compared to a threshold value. Further, the threshold value is changed in accordance with an aperture of a throttle valve disposed in an intake pipe of an upstream side of the intake manifold during continuation of the described state.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
