<p>Disclosed are a terminal and method for inputting characters which are capable of reducing a typing error caused by a touch. According to the present invention, a terminal and method for inputting characters are provided, which are capable of searching predicted (similar) words for a second word including one or more relevant spellings, based on the priority of the word, when a typing error cause by a touch occurs, thereby automatically checking an input of a word with higher accuracy. Accordingly, the present invention is very effective in improving the accuracy of an input even if a typing error occurs by searching a desired word accurately and quickly before a user completely inputs the desired word.
