GAS TURBINE ENGINE HAVING FOREIGN MATTER REMOVAL PASSAGE

<p>A gas turbine engine having a foreign matter removal passage enabling the effective removal of foreign matters in a combustion air while adopting an extremely simple structure, wherein an intake passage (21) comprises an inlet part (29), a curved part (30), and a converged part (31). A bypass duct (24) is curved in a direction apart from a rotating axis (CL) at those portions thereof corresponding to the curved part (30) and the converged part (31) of the intake passage (21). An annular space (32) used also as the foreign matter removal passage is formed between the intake passage (21) and the bypass duct (24). A large number of foreign matter introduction holes (33) communicating the intake passage (21) with the annular space (32) are circumferentially formed in an outer liner (20) at the converged part (31). A plurality of foreign matter discharge holes (34) communicating the annular space (32) with the bypass duct (24) are circumferentially formed in an inner casing (4) at the outwardly curved portion thereof.</p>
