<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain stable high speed recording of large capacity while maintaining high compatibility with a conventional optical disk and miniaturization capability of an apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: One or both of two beams emitted from a light irradiation means are made to pass through an optical path variable member wherein at least one of thickness and refractive index is changed continuously or in two or more steps just after emission from the light irradiation means and optical path lengths of the two beams are made relatively different or the optical path length of one beam is made variable to be positioned in a position of a recording layer for reproduction or recording. When recording or reading of a multilayered recording medium is performed, beam is condensed highly accurately as compared with the conventional one, and an effect of high density and large capacity of recording/reproduction can be obtained. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
