PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steam-heating apparatus, from which the quantity of heat to be radiated to the atmosphere can be reduced during heating and after heating. SOLUTION: A steam supply pipe 8 is connected to a jacket part of a reaction vessel 1. An empty chamber 3 is arranged on the outer periphery of the jacket part 2. A vacuum pump 20 is made to communicate with the right upper part of the empty chamber 3 while interposing an opening/closing valve 21 and a vacuum auxiliary tank 19 between them. The right upper part of the jacket part 2 is connected to the vacuum auxiliary tank 19 while interposing an opening/closing valve 22 between them. When the reaction vessel 1 is heated, heating steam is supplied to the jacket part 2 and the empty chamber 3 is made to communicate with the vacuum pump 20 through the opening/closing valve 21 and the vacuum auxiliary tank 19 to keep the empty chamber in a predetermined vacuum state so that the heat to be radiated from the jacket part 2 can be prevented.
