PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a servo information recording apparatus and a servo information recording method capable of writing servo information onto a disk medium with a simple configuration, low cost, and high reliability. SOLUTION: The servo information recording apparatus includes a head supported in a manner that allows it to swing around a predetermined swing axis, a head drive section for causing the head to swing within a predetermined area in a radial direction of the disk medium, and a control section for controlling the head drive section and writing the servo information into a track of the disk medium. The swing axis of the head is disposed at a location such that P/R has a value of 1.35 or more, where R represents the radius of the outer periphery of the disk medium and P represents a distance between the center of the disk medium and the pivot.
