PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for simulating the movements of a first fluid, a second fluid and an interface between the first fluid and the second fluid. SOLUTION: The fluid speeds and pressures of the first fluid and the second fluid are calculated in a first set of nodes on a first mesh in a first time step. The fluid speeds and pressures represent the movements of the first fluid and the second fluid in the first time step. Although a level set represents the position of the interface in the first time step, the level set is calculated in a second set of nodes in a second mesh. The second mesh is odd number times as fine as the first mesh. New fluid speeds and pressures of the first fluid and the second fluid are calculated at a first set of points in a second time step. Although the new fluid speeds and pressures of the first fluid and the second fluid are calculated at the first set of nodes in the second time step, the new fluid speeds and pressures represent new movements of the first fluid and the second fluid in the second time step.
