PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an analyzer capable of avoiding the stop of analyzing work even if a control board gets out of order, and an analyzing method. SOLUTION: A plurality of operation mechanisms 6, 7 and 10 are operated while individually controlled by the control panels 21-23 provided to the respective operation mechanisms to analyze a specimen. The analyzer includes a backup control board 24 for the control boards, a plurality of switches 25-28 which connect the control boards, a backup control board and a plurality of the operation mechanisms in a freely replaceable manner and a control part 15 for writing a control program having the same content as the control board in the backup control board in the case where the control board gets out of order and instructing a plurality of the switches to change over to individually control a plurality of the operation mechanisms by the backup control board and the other remaining normal control board.
