A receptacle terminal is provided to enhance the joining strength between terminals and prevent the damage of an elastic body thereof, by improving a structure of the elastic body. A first elastic portion(102) and a second elastic portion(103) are formed on an inside surface of a receptacle terminal(100). The first elastic portion and the second elastic portion hold a tap terminal inserted into the receptacle terminal. A space(105) is formed between an end of the first elastic portion and an end of the second elastic portion, and receives a part of the first elastic portion elastically transformed. When the tap terminal is inserted into the receptacle terminal, the second elastic portion supports the first elastic portion.
