The invention relates to a method of digitizing a periodic analogue signal. The method comprises the step of providing a periodic sequence of time slots, wherein each time slot of the sequence of time slots has a configurable length, wherein the period of the sequence of time slots is equal to the period of the analogue signal, and wherein the sequence of time slots is synchronized with the analogue signal. In a further step, a digital representation is generated from the analogue signal. The digital representation is then used to determine for each time slot of the periodic sequence of time slots an accumulated value. Further, an average accumulated value can be determined from the accumulated values of each time slot that have been measured over several periods. In other aspects, the invention relates to an electronic apparatus for digitizing a periodic analogue signal and to a computer program product. |
