<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nickel-hydrogen secondary battery module, along with a manufacturing method of a secondary battery module in which a communication hole of appropriate size can be formed, capable of suppressing movement of oxygen gas between housing parts, even with the communication hole provided to a barrier wall part and less number of safety valves than that in the housing part, to reduce variation in discharge reserving of power generation elements. <P>SOLUTION: A nickel-hydrogen secondary battery module 100 comprises a power generation element 130 comprising a negative electrode plate 162 containing a hydrogen storage alloy, a battery case 110 comprising first-sixth housing parts 115a-115f that are arranged to adjoin each other with a barrier wall 111 in between, housing a power generation element respectively, and allow communication of gas in the housing parts through a communication hole 112 formed at the barrier wall, and a less number of safety valves 120, than that in the housing part, which are installed at the upper part of the battery case.
