PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil separator inlet structure for preventing oil scraped up by a cam shaft from advancing into a plate opening part.SOLUTION: An inverse V-shaped shield plate 11 covering at least a central part of an opening 4 in an engine forward or rearward direction X from below is arranged below a plate opening part 4 becoming an inlet of an oil separator. The shield plate 11 forms two inlet ports 16, 16 opened toward the front side of the engine and the rear side of the engine between vertical opening edges 8, 8 of the opening part 4. The central of the opening part 4 in the forward or rearward direction X of the engine is provided with a vertical rib 9 crossing the opening part 4 along the engine width direction Y and extending along the plane on the shield plate 11 crossing with the buffle plate 2. Oil flied in a slant forward or rearward direction and entered from the two inlets 16, 16 strikes against the surfaces 9c, 9d of the rib 9 at the front side of the engine and at the rear side of the engine. With this arrangement as above, advancing of oil into the opening 4 is prevented.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
