A laser medium unit 10 in a laser beam amplification device is provided with a plurality of laser mediums 14. A cooling medium passage F1 is provided around the laser medium unit 10 and cools the laser medium unit 10 from the outside. A gas or liquid is filled inside an airtight space between the laser mediums 14. Because a laser beam passing through said airtight space is not subject to interference from the cooling medium flowing outside, fluctuations, or the like, of an amplified laser beam are suppressed, and the laser beam quality, including stability and focusing characteristics, is improved. |
