PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet printer which inhibits a medium width end from contacting with an ink discharge part and inhibits a printable area from narrowing in a width direction of a print medium.SOLUTION: An ink jet printer includes: a platen supporting a roll sheet P; an ink discharge part 71 which discharges an ink to the roll sheet P supported by the platen while moving to a first discharge position 71a, at which the ink discharge part 71 may discharge the ink to a first medium width end P1 of the roll sheet P, and a second discharge position 71b, at which the ink discharge part 71 may discharge the ink to a second medium width end P2 of the roll sheet P; and a first medium pressing member 81 which rotates so as to be located in a first pressing position 81a (a first position), at which the first medium pressing member 81 presses the first medium width end P1 to the platen, when the ink discharge part 71 is in the second discharge position 71b, and located in a first non-pressing position 81b (a second position), at which the first medium pressing member 81 does not press the first medium width end P1 to the platen, when the ink discharge part 71 is in the first discharge position 71a.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
