PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve defibrating efficiency to a material including fibers.SOLUTION: A sheet manufacturing apparatus includes a defibrating part configured to defibrate a material containing fibers with a dry method, and uses at least part of a defibrated product obtained by defibrating to manufacture a sheet. The defibrating part includes: a supply port configured to receive a supply of a raw material; a discharge port configured to discharge the defibrated product; a stationary part arranged inside a defibrating chamber positioned between the supply port and the discharge port; a rotary part arranged at the defibrating chamber and having a plurality of cutting parts that face the stationary part and protrude in a direction away from a rotary axis; and a communication part being conical and communicating the defibrating chamber and the discharge port, the communication part with an apex of the cone located closer to a discharge port side than the defibrating chamber.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
