More specifically, a light-absorbing, neutral density filter applied as a shield, protective film, or protective coating layer for an electronic device display that blocks ultraviolet light, high energy visible light, and at least a portion of blue light. The neutral density filter comprises a polymer substrate and an absorbing agent.
