A process is disclosed for the baseline separation of the AT-III variants .alpha. and .beta. which process uses a cyclodextrin-modified micellar electrokinetic chromatography. The separation is performed in the presence of a buffer solution comprising boric acid, an anionic tensid, .beta.-cyclodextrin and a n aliphatic diamine.
