摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface coat cemented carbide made cutting tool the hard coat layer of which displays excellent chipping resistance in high speed heavy cutting work. SOLUTION: The surface coat cemented carbide made cutting tool is constituted by physically evaporating the hard coat layer having a structure on which a titanium nitride phase is dispersed and distributed in a proportion of a 5-40 area % in surface analysis by an Auger spectrochemical analysis device on a basis made of composite nitride of Ti and Al having a composition formula: (Ti1- XAlX)N (wherein X shows 0.25-0.75 in an atomic ratio) on a surface of a carbonitride titanium thermet base body or a tungsten carbide group cemeted carbide base body in average layer thickness of 0.5-10μm.
