PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple prepaid gas meter incapable of releasing easily an unreleasable cut-off condition of a cut-off valve by the third party, when the cut-off valve is brought into the unreleasable cut-off condition because of arrearage of a gas charge. SOLUTION: This prepaid gas meter 1 having the cut-off valve 7 for cutting off a gas, a flow sensor 13, a cut-off valve opening button 4, a test cut-off switch 5 and a reset switch 6, and for controlling opening and closing of the cut-off valve 7 by a micro computer 11, brings the cut-off valve 7 into the unreleasable cut-off condition when a period set by a timer 9 for setting a gas supply period lapses, and releases the unreleasable cut-off condition of the cut-off valve 7 by prescribed combination of an operation of the opening button 4, an operation of the test cut-off switch 5 and an operation of the reset switch 6.
