An apparatus and a method for setting the background of an audio channel in a DMB(Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) service are provided to offer the video data of a specific or multiple video channel broadcasted with the broadcasting service of an audio channel as a background in the hearing of the audio channel or conversion of the video channel into an audio channel. A method for providing broadcasting data in a DMB(Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) service comprises the following steps of: providing the DMB service received from a predetermined broadcasting center(509,519); and outputting the video data of a specific or multiple video channel when the broadcasting service of an audio channel is provided in the DMB service. The video data includes only video data in which audio data is removed of the broadcasting data of the specific or multiple video channel broadcasted previously and currently in the broadcasting center.
