PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more efficiently remove impurities by promoting a demanganization reaction while suppressing the increase of the quantity of an iron oxide to a minimal value. SOLUTION: This method for removing impurities comprises steps of: dividing a mixed raw material group including a plurality of iron-base raw materials into a first raw material group G1 with a mass of Ma, in which a mass content ratio Ea of silicon to manganese satisfies Ea≤1.5, and a second raw material group G2 with a mass of Mb, in which a mass content ratio Eb of silicon to manganese satisfies Eb>Ea and also the mass Mb satisfies Mb≤1.5Ma; melting the first raw material group G1 at first; adding an iron oxide to the molten cast iron to float up slag to the surface of the molten metal; subsequently adding the second raw material group G2 to the molten metal of the first raw material group G1; and melting the second raw material group G2 together with the first raw material group G1 to float up the slag to the surface of the molten cast iron again.
