PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antistatic agent for a thermoplastic polymer imparting an excellent antistatic property to a thermoplastic polymer molded article, and at the same time, imparting desired excellent properties such as blocking resistance, non-tacky property, reutilizability and resistance to transfer even in a production or fabrication of the thermoplastic molded article increased in the production speed; an antistatic treatment of a thermoplastic polymer molded article using the same; and an antistatic thermoplastic polymer molded article using the same. SOLUTION: As the antistatic agent for a thermoplastic polymer, a vinyl copolymer emulsion obtained through a first step of obtaining a vinyl monomer liquid mixture using a specific vinyl monomer mixture, a nonionic surfactant and an aqueous solvent and a second step of performing radical polymerization reaction of the vinyl monomer liquid mixture by adding a radical polymerization initiator to obtain a vinyl copolymer emulsion, is used.
