PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plug for an oven lid designed to prevent penetration of coal powder into a gap between the plug for the oven lid and an oven wall when the oven lid is mounted on a charging port of a carbonization chamber and coal is carbonized. SOLUTION: A steel wire material longer than an interval between a lateral face of the plug for the oven lid and the internal surface of the oven wall opposite thereto is arranged in a brush state on the lateral face of the plug for the oven lid.
