The invention relates to a device for dispensing a coolant (1), especially a liquid coolant (1), comprising a container (2), configured as a reservoir for the coolant (1), a valve (3) which is arranged on the container (2) and can be opened to dispense the coolant (1) from the container (2) in a dosed manner, an actuator (4) for temporarily opening the valve (3) and an applicator (5) which is detachably arranged on the device and which consists of a support element (6) and an absorption element (7) arranged thereon, wherein at least the absorption element (7) of the applicator (5) can be accommodated in a receptacle (12) of an applicator support (8) of the device. A hollow channel (9) is arranged between the valve (3) and the applicator support (8), through which channel the coolant (1) can be transferred to the applicator support (8) when the valve (3) is opened. The applicator support (8), in terms of its longitudinal extension, is arranged substantially parallel to the longitudinal extension of the container (2) and the applicator (2) can be immobilized in the receptacle (12).
