The present invention relates to a calculating device and a method thereof capable of recording occupancy in real time by classifying people who pass through a specific space and people who stay in the specific space. The occupancy calculating device which is composed of a microprocessor and a method thereof have a stereo camera capable of photographing a space of a predetermined range from top to bottom by being installed above people in a specific space and is able to calculate and record the number of people, movement direction, position, and height of the people based on a height change which is caused by the movement of the people by calculating a distance between objects positioned in a virtual grid of regular intervals in a photographed image by calculating a distance between left and right cameras, the photographing angle of the camera, and each distance between pixels which display the same object in the image. |
