The present invention relates to a heat resistant resin and a preparation method therefor and, more specifically, to: a heat resistant resin comprising 100 parts by weight of a styrene-based resin and 0.5-5 parts by weight of silica having a contact angle of 10-60 degrees and an average diameter of 0.1-100 nm; a preparation method therefor; and a heat resistant resin composition containing the same. According to the present invention, there is an effect of providing: a heat resistant resin having excellent coagulation due to a low water content and a small fine particle content while having equal or greater heat resistance compared with the prior art; a preparation method therefor; and a heat resistant resin composition containing the same.
