PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge failure preventing device for an ink jet printing head installable in various ink jet printers without needing any large device and a discharge failure preventing method.SOLUTION: The discharge failure preventing device 1 for an ink jet printing head is provided in an ink jet printer 10 for performing printing on a continuous sheet traveling after unwinding from a roll state, and the ink jet printing head includes a discharge nozzle for discharging ink used for printing on the continuous sheet, and is fixed to a predetermined position in the ink jet printer. The discharge failure preventing device 1 includes a first ink mist suction part 100 disposed on at least one of the traveling direction inlet side and the outlet side of the ink jet printing head to suck ink mist, and a second ink mist suction part 200 disposed in an area below the continuous sheet of a printing area formed between the traveling direction inlet side and the outlet side of the ink jet printing head to suck the ink mist.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8 |
