PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silica-based chiral structure which can be produced easily, and has high transparency and excellent optical activity, and to produce a method for producing the same.SOLUTION: The method for producing a silica-based chiral structure of the present invention comprises: a step (I) of obtaining a mixture by mixing a solvent (A), a cellulose derivative (B) which can form a liquid crystal in the solvent (A), and a tetraalkoxysilane (C); a step (II) of obtaining a composite material of a liquid-crystallized material of the cellulose derivative (B) and a condensate of the tetraalkoxysilane (C); and a step (III) of removing the liquid-crystallized material in the composite material by a treatment with an acid (E).SELECTED DRAWING: None |
