The device has a signal component (3A) with an optical display unit (20) i.e. LED, for displaying an operational state of an electrical equipment i.e. electric motor. A housing is provided for electronic components (24) i.e. chip, for bus communication. A front module is provided upstream of the signal component. A bus coupling module has a bus and a power supply line. A set of performance parameters e.g. brightness, of the optical display unit is stored in a modifiable manner in the electronic components, where the parameters are determined based on scheduled progress of light output.
