PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic-inorganic composite type synthetic resin emulsion composition showing high refractive index and further useful for obtaining a transparent coating film without aggregation.SOLUTION: A synthetic resin emulsion composition contains a synthetic resin emulsion (A) and metal oxide (B) having an average particle diameter of 20 nm or less, the average particle diameter of synthetic resin particles in the synthetic resin emulsion composition (A) is 150 nm or less, and the content of the metal oxide (B) is 50 pts.wt. or more based on 100 pts.wt. of a solid content of the synthetic resin emulsion (A).
