<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio tag positioning apparatus capable of stably communicating with a reader/writer by keeping the antenna position of a radio tag constant even in the case of a packaged radio tag. <P>SOLUTION: The positioning apparatus has an opening in its top and has a compartment formed therein that communicates with its bottom from the opening. The compartment is so formed that approximately the center point of the tag antenna of a radio tag fits within a predetermined position. The predetermined position is approximately opposite to the transmitting/receiving antenna of a reader/writer that communicates with the ratio tag.
