PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide yarn information initialization method and initialization system for a yarn clearer of each spindle based on detection of performance of cleaning of a clearer head. SOLUTION: During cleaning performed by repeatedly inserting/separating a cleaning member into/from between a light projecting part and a light receiving part of the clearer head, the yarn clearer determines whether or not predetermined cleaning is performed and initializes a yarn diameter mean valueϕAVEn of the clearer head, based on results of determination (i) whether or not the cleaning member is inserted, (ii) whether or not insertion time and/or noninsertion time is within a predetermined range and (iii) whether or not insertion and/or pulling out is performed for the predetermined number of times or more.
