PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear moving device small in comparison with the stroke of a movable body and having no restrictions on an installation direction. SOLUTION: The linear moving device is provided with a stationary device body 1; a first movable body 10 supported in a linearly reciprocating manner to the device body 1; a driving means 30 for moving the first movable body 10; a second movable body 20 supported to the first movable body 10 so as to be linearly reciprocated parallel with the moving direction of the first movable body 10; first and second pulleys 40, 50 journaled to the first movable body 10 and spaced from each other in the moving direction; and first and second belts 60, 70 with one ends 60a, 70a fixed to the device body 1, with the other ends 60b, 70b fixed to the second movable body 20 and with the respective intermediate parts wound on the first and second pulleys 40, 50 in the mutually opposite directions.
