The invention relates to a process for recovering the useful mineral substances from the waste of the mud-setting ponds comprising precious metals. According to the invention, the process consists in disintegrating the material, wherefrom the fraction below 40μm is removed, the resulting material is dried up to a humidity of 0.2% and then it is subjected to magnetic separation in an induction magnetic field of 1.4...1.6 T, wherefrom there is obtained an intermediary concentrate of auriferous pyrite and rare metals and an intermediary concentrate of feldspar, which is further subjected to separation in an electro-separator to result in a final concentrate of potassium feldspar having a content of FeOof up to 0.28%, as well as a final concentrate of auriferous pyrite.
