Disclosed a novel, effective, and easy production method, capable of producing a high-quality cylindrical structure, and, also disclosed is a high-quality and highly uniform cylindrical structure. Provided is a method for producing a cylindrical structure, comprising a step of inserting a mandrel into a molded body made of a gelatinous material, and a step of drying the molded body to shrink the molded body in the direction of the mandrel, to thereby obtain an intermediate structure, and further, a step of removing the mandrel from the intermediate structure. Provided is a cylindrical structure wherein a part of or the entirety of the structure comprises a tubular part containing a protein, and wherein, when the tubular part is cut at five points at 0.5 cm intervals at right angles to the longitudinal direction of the tubular part so that five cross-sections are obtained, and internal diameters are measured in four directions deviated at an angle of 45 degrees regarding each of the five cross-sections, the average value of the four internal diameters of each cross-section has a variation coefficient of 0.1 or less. |
