PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery, which is non-water soluble and high in reduction resistance.SOLUTION: An electrode for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery of the present invention includes, as an electrode active material, a layered structure including: an organic skeleton layer containing an aromatic compound having an aromatic ring structure and two or more carboxylic acid anion portions; and an alkaline earth metal element layer in which an alkaline earth metal element is coordinated with oxygen contained in the carboxylic acid anion portions to form a skeleton.
