PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer and print processing program which allow a user to temporarily get away from a real time preview mode and continue an editing operation even when edition contents become unable to generate a printing tape in the middle of the operation while maintaining the convenience of the real time preview mode in which the user can edit while viewing the appearance image.SOLUTION: A printer includes a cartridge holder to which a cartridge can be detachably attached. A CPU acquires the tape width of a cover film provided in the cartridge and determines the tape width as a printing possible condition together with the label length of a printing label generated with printing and separating. When any printing possible condition is not satisfied with an editing operation in the real time preview mode setting, the printer is shifted to a text input mode to enable continuation of the subsequent editing operation, and when all the printing possible conditions are satisfied, is returned to the real time preview mode.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7 |
