PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve image quality even when a temperature change over time is different on a pixel basis.SOLUTION: An image reading device includes: a light source that irradiates a document; a light source control unit 220 that alternately turns on and off the light source; a photo-electric conversion/signal processing unit 240 that reads reflection light from the document for each pixel and generates an image signal of the document for each pixel. The photo-electric conversion/signal processing unit 240 includes a black level correction unit that generates, as the image signal of the document, a correction image level that is a difference between an image level of the document read during a turn-on period of the light source and a black level read during a turn-off period of the light source.
