<p>Disclosed is a method for readily producing an aneuploid, which is applicable to any species and does not cause any unexpected damage to chromosomes other than a chromosome to be lost. The method comprises steps of: introducing a set of inverted recognition sequences running in opposite directions or a single recognition sequence comprising a nucleotide sequence which is symmetrical about a given point together with a vector carrying a gene for a recombinant enzyme into plant cells or, alternatively, introducing a vector carrying a set of inverted recognition sequences running in opposite directions or a single recognition sequence comprising a nucleotide sequence which is symmetrical about a given point into plant cells and then allowing to act a recombinant enzyme on the cells transiently at least during the growth of the cells; culturing the cells to grow; and selecting cells in which a predetermined chromosome has been lost.</p> |
