<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable status information to be properly managed by preventing a trouble resulting from a duplicated acquisition of the status information indicating the operating state of an image forming device from occurring. <P>SOLUTION: When an inquiry of the device state is received in a first communication port from information processing terminal units 14a, 14b and 15a, printers 11a and 11b judge whether a second communication port which is connected to be communicative with the information processing terminal units 14a, 14b and 15a exists or not other than the port. When the second communication port exists, whether the first communication port is one having a highest priority sequence from among communication ports with which communicative terminal units are connected at the present time or not is judged. When the second communication port does not exist, or when the first communication port is one having the highest priority sequence, the status information indicating the operating state of the device is transmitted from the first communication port to the information processing terminal units 14a, 14b and 15a which had sent the inquiry for the device state. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
