The present invention relates to: an antiviral composition containing, as an active ingredient, trichodermin or trichoderminol isolated from a Trichoderma albolutescenes strain; a composition for controlling plant viruses; and a method for controlling plant viruses by using the composition. According to the present invention, trichodermin or trichoderminol, which is a trichothecene-based compound isolated from a Trichoderma albolutescenes strain, has an antiviral activity against various plant viruses, and thus can be useful for controlling plant viruses. In addition, the present invention is based on a natural product, can easily mass produce an active ingredient, and can be variously applied in the agricultural fields such as in the development of an environmentally friendly control agent using a safe material inflicting no damage on plants, and in the production of high-value crops.
