PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a particulate filter regeneration method that can successfully regenerate a particulate filter without causing problems even in an operating region where an exhaust temperature is low.SOLUTION: When forced generation of a particulate filter 15 is executed in an operating region where an exhaust temperature is low, fuel injection in some cylinders 1 is stopped to perform a cylinder cut-off operation, and in the resting cylinders 1, exhaust valves 4 are forcedly opened around a compression top dead center to release compression pressure so as to increase an engine load. In remaining operating cylinders 1, fuel injection is performed by increasing fuel injection amount to compensate decline of torque caused by the increase in the engine load, and along with the fuel injection, fuel is added through post injection.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
