A mobile information communication apparatus includes a data processing device for sending plotting command/data to a display control device that controls the pixels of a display panel belonging to the mobile information communication apparatus. An interface device is provided which receives the plotting command/data generated by the data processing device and sends, based on plotting command/data, an external display signal to the external display device. The data processing device and the interface device are configured to send, from the interface device, a higher-resolution external display signal.

1. A graphics controller installed in a mobile information communication apparatus comprising a CPU, an interface means to send a display signal to a peripheral apparatus, and a display means:
wherein said graphic controller has the following functions: a function to write and read bit-mapped data into/from a VRAM according to a processing result of said CPU and to generate digital display signals for transmitting the read bit-mapped data; a function to generate two digital display signals having different intrinsic resolutions; and a function to send the digital display signal having a high intrinsic resolution to said interface means and to send the digital display signal having a low intrinsic resolution to said display means.
