PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain both a crimped yarn for a carpet, from which a carpet having sufficient impact resilience bulkiness, durability and soil resistance in spite of having a soft touch feeling can be produced and a carpet by using the crimped yarn. SOLUTION: In this crimped yarn for a carpet the crimped yarn, in which a Y type hollow section multifilament having a deformation degree Ra and a percentage of hollowness H and a Y type non-hollow section multifilament satisfying the following relation (1) 2.0<=Ra<=4.5, (2) 1.5<=Rb<=3.0, and (3) 5%<=H<=15% coexist, has the number of interfacings of 20/m and polymers constituting the multifilament of each of the sections are substantially the same. This carpet is obtained by using the crimped yarn for a carpet.
