PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide metallic furniture which has a reduced possibility of receiv ing abrasions, and has excellent mechanical strength by a metallic oxide thin film for maintaining its surface appearance, and a production method therefor. SOLUTION: In the metallic furniture having excellent wear resistance, the surface of a metallic base material for furniture is provided with a zirconia thin film. The thin film is of a zirconia film forming precursor composition containing a zirconium compound, an aminopolycarboxylic acid, an amine and a solvent.
