PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a creep resistant alloy which has creep resistance superior to that of an AE42 alloy and relatively excellent corrosion resistance, does not suffer cracking, has excellent castability, and is also inexpensive compared with the AE42 alloy. SOLUTION: The creep resistant Mg alloy has a composition containing, by mass, 1.5 to 4.0% Al(aluminum), 0.5 to 1.8% Si(silicon), 0.05 to 0.6% rare earth elements (hereinafter referred to as RE) and 0.005 to 1.5% Sr(strontium) or Sb (antimony), and the balance Mg(magnesium) with inevitable impurities. If required, 0.3 to 1.5% Ca is further added thereto to improve its creep resistance. If required, 0.1 to 0.4% Mn is added thereto to improve its corrosion resistance.
