PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide folded part-flattening equipment which prevents wrinkles of a flat surface which are apt to be formed on the occasion of flattening a bulge of the tip of a folded part of a double folded booklet. SOLUTION: The equipment has paper conveying rolls 101 which convey the double folded booklet 10 in the direction of an arrow A with the folded part 10a at the head, clamping rolls 102 which clamp the booklet 10, a paper stopper 104 which stops the booklet 10 at a fixed position, paired booklet gripping members 106 and 107 which grip the booklet 10, holding it from the opposite sides, and a roll 110 which presses the tip of the folded part 10a of the booklet gripped by the booklet gripping members, and the equipment flattens the bulge of the tip of the folded part 10a of the booklet so as to form the flat surface at the tip of the folded part 10a. The equipment is provided with an opening amount setting part 114 which sets an opening amount of an opening formed by the paired booklet gripping members at the time when the conveyed booklet 10 is received.
