PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety and convenient rice cooker by detecting presence/absence of abnormality in rice cooking at an early stage of the rice cooking by cooking rice sequence is corrected in the case of abnormality in cooking rice. SOLUTION: The rice cooker has: a mein body 10 for housing a pot 11; a lid 20 of the main body 10; a heating means 13 for heating the pot 11; a temperature detection means 52 for detecting the temperature of the pot 11; a weight detection means 40 for detecting the weight of the pot 11 and an object 19 to be cooked an input power energy detection means (microcomputer) 66 for detecting input power energy by the heating means 13; and a heating control means 64 for controlling the heating means 13. During cooking rice, the presence/absence of abnormality in rice cooking is detected from the temperature of the pot, the input power energy and the weight of the object to be cooked, and a rice-cooking sequence is corrected in the presence of abnormality. Thus, when the rice cooking is abnormal, abnormality is detected reliably at the early stage of the rice cooking from the temperature of the pot, the input power energy and the weight of the object to be cooked, and the rice cooking sequence can be corrected to be safety and convenient.
