PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the handlebar operation from being heavy when largely steering a handlebar when a vehicle is traveling at a low speed in a steering damper device in which an inexpensive cylindrical damper having a simple structure is used, less damping force is generated when the handlebar is at a neutral position, and the damping force to be gradually increased according to the steering angle of the handlebar when the handlebar is steered. SOLUTION: A cylindrical damper 10 is arranged between a head pipe 6h for turnably supporting a steering stem 5 of a motorcycle and a fork bridge 4 of a front fork 2 so as to be shortest when a handlebar is at a neutral position. The cylindrical damper 10 generates the damping force when being expanded, and generates less damping force when being contracted. The damping coefficient of the cylindrical damper 10 is decreased as the steering angle of the handlebar is increased. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
