PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the prevention of a shock and shortening of a lockup time compatible, even when stepping on an accelerator in the last period lockup control after slip rotation becomes very small. SOLUTION: After a moment t3 when continuing for a preset timeΔt or longer in a state of a slip rotation ¾Ne-Nt¾ becoming preset slip rotationΔNs or less, a time change gradient of a lockup differential pressure (Pa-Pr) command value T1 is enlarged more than a gradient till then than as indicated in d1, and after time t5 when actual slip rotation ¾Ne-Nt¾ exceeds the preset slip rotationΔNs by an increase in an engine speed Ne by an increase in accelerator opening APO of a moment t4, the time change gradient of the lockup differential pressure (Pa-Pr) command value T1 is returned to the same small gradient as the gradient up to the moment t3 as indicated in d2, and after a moment t7 when continuing for the preset timeΔt or longer in a state of the slip rotation ¾Ne-Nt¾ becoming the preset slip rotationΔNs or less, the time change gradient of the lockup differential pressure (Pa-Pr) command value T1 is set to the same large gradient as d1 as indicated in d6.
